The interest part, though, is that since he was there, I was more attentive to what actually goes on during our recess. And it's pure chaos. While he was there...
- One child had to be nearly dragged out by the arm because... well... I'm not really sure why. She wouldn't move unless she was screaming at a little boy (they fight constantly) and the fighting was being allowed, so, well, she didn't want to move. Then, once outside, she kidnapped my classroom management clipboard and "played teacher" by chasing the other kids down screaming that she'd give them a check, so... that was interesting. But typical.
- Sunny had to sit out 5 minutes for drawing "Justin Bieber fashion clothes" instead of taking her weekly vocabulary quiz.
- Mo fell headfirst into one of the numerous giant ant piles on our playground, and I had to yank his uniform shirt off of his tiny little self to get the ants off while he screamed (they were biting, and there were dozens on him).
- I hollered at the top of my lungs across the playground no less than 4 times for kids to get out of the road (yes, there's a road running across and around our "playground") and to not get hit by cars. It's still amazing to me that none of them have been hit yet.
- The actual "playing" was rather limited, as we have 1-2 working swings and one slide, and there were 4 class of about 20 kids each outside (as usual). Thank God for jump ropes, kick balls, footballs, and tag. Not so good that we've had flooding all week, as they ran helter skelter around.
- And, as usual, the private school next door with drastically fewer kids and their lovely, colorful, and great condition equipment was in full sight for our jealous little eyes.
