Teaching versus Testing

Testing is winning this battle. I'm not pleased.

It would be one thing if we had a truly outstanding test. We don't.

It would be another thing if we had ample time to spend on both teaching and testing. We don't.

And it would be even another thing if the children showed up somewhere near grade level, and therefore either the test would be easy enough for us not to care or we wouldn't need to spend such ample time on remediation and would have time for teaching and testing. Again, no go.

Ugh.
